Sarno Restaurant & Pizzeria (Melbourne)

In a strip mall that had seen better days sits Sarno Restaurant and Pizza. Once upon a time this was probably a thriving commercial center, now it's mostly medical offices and a couple of restaurants.

Entering Sarno Restaurant and Pizza you are greeted with a good view of the nice clean kitchen. Immediately to the right is a large dinning room decorated with murals on the walls depicting scenic views of what appears to be the Italian countryside. Mrs Guy and I were quickly seated and promptly had our order taken.  Large Pepperoni pizza and two waters. I did ask if they had flavored tea.  Sadly, they only served Sweet and Unsweetened plus the standard sodas most other restaurants serve.

After a thirty minute wait our piping hot pizza arrived. It was a beautiful looking pie and first bites did not disappoint. A nice floppy slice with plenty of cheese, sauce and pepperoni.  As
mentioned prior, it's ann extremely thin crust until the last 1/2 inch and then it becomes a breadstick.
The end crust became chewy as it cooled down. The sauce starts out mild then ends with a kick. The sauce leaves a peppery aftertaste in your mouth  It is a chunkier sauce then I am used to seeing on a pie. The cheese had a nice sweet taste and a slight pull. The Pepperoni is a bit bland at first bite..then has a slight kick. Matches the sauce well.

Great first impression but as it cools that great taste gets lost in multiple flavors going different directions. Mrs Guy and I rated Sarno Restaurant and Pizza a 4 Dancing Pepperonis. Thank You Sarno Restaurant and Pizza.
