It was suggested to try Guiseppe's Steel City Pizza several years ago when we first started this pizza adventure. Finding the opportunity to travel an hour one way just to try a pizza was not high on the priority list of pizza places to try. If we had known then what we know now....well this is what we know now.
Placing a phone call for a pick up we are directed to a window on the north side of Guiseppe's magnificent building. We took the opportunity to drive around the outside and we were quite impressed with the size of the building. Including a Statue outside of a guy holding a pizza. Picking up the pizza a pleasant aroma was smelled thru the air. It was the pizza. The scent of a pie. Smelled like a pizza you would get at a corner pizzeria in Pittsburgh. I felt at home.
Visually this was an impressive pie. Looked tasty..a saucy appearance along with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. So far everything passed the eye test. Now the big moment. The Tasting..
And it didn't disappoint. Wow. This was a delicious pie. The crust had a nice crunch along with a soft center. The cheese was Roma cheese I think..well that little three legged table they put in the center of the pie said Roma on it. Roma cheese is an excellent pizza cheese. Sauce..lots of it and very delightful sauce. Its always good when the Pepperoni had a meaty flavor to it and this pepperoni did.
All those combined made a 5 Dancing Pepperoni pizza. Strongly recommend giving them a try.
Side note. The interior is decorated with Pittsburgh sports Momentos. Been told they have a wall of fame where the pizza eating challenge winners get their picture immortalized. The person who suggested Guiseppe's is on the wall. Thanks We enjoyed it
To Guiseppes Steel City Pizza. Thank you.
