Italy Italy (Melbourne)

For our next stop on this pizza journey we headed to the place that's so nice they had to name it twice, Italy Italy. Located in Northgate Plaza in Melbourne at the corner of Aurora and Wickham is a difficult to find little gem of an Italian Ristoranté. Italy Italy is tucked behind the giant ice cream cone in the parking lot, and seems very unassuming, but when you walk through the door you are whisked away and taken on a trip to the heart of Italy. Decorated to look like the old country with plenty of wonderful Italian scents.

There are two large dining areas with the kitchen only slightly visible from the front entrance. This is a wonderful place to take a date, for the atmosphere alone, but we are here for pizza.

We ordered a large pepperoni pizza. Big surprise right? After all, we are called The Pepperoni Report. It took a little longer than usual for the pie to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. There was a 1, 2 punch with the pepperoni and sauce teaming up to bring out a hearty robust and zesty flavor, that really danced on your taste buds. The mozzarella took a back seat, but when you tried it alone it was wonderful and creamy. The crust was abundant and well charged. It had that nice soft on the inside, crunch on the outside we love so much ( a little side note from Other Guy: He found it to have just a bit too much crust for his taste, but still enjoyed it. ).

If you want to see what we immediately thought of this pizza, then please watch the video below.

As you can see from the video we left with smiles on our faces. Guy dug down deep and pulled 5 Dancing Pepperoni out of his pocket for a rating.

We have a guest Reheat Update due to some health issues with Guy, so without further adieu, I give you Wife of Guy.

Reheat Update with Wife of Guy: I reheated the pizza in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. The crust was crispy and the cheese melted nicely. This was a delicious pizza.

There you have it, if you would like more information on Italy Italy, you will have to just go there and find out, they don't have a Website or Facebook page, they keep it real and old school. You'll just have to take our word for it, and go give them a try.
