Bella Luna was on the menu this week, so that is where we went. Located in Suntree, Florida is a little piece of Italy. The outside belies the dimly lit date night haven that is inside. A bottle of chianti and flowers sit on every table, with artwork of old Italian scenes decorating the walls.
We were greeted with a happy smile and a hearty hello. It was very clean with views of the kitchen from anywhere in the dining area. Loafs of freshly baked bread were available for take home if you wanted. The service was fantastic, all our needs were met with enthusiasm.
The rules were back in place since this was a location that we had never been to before, so our customary large pepperoni pizza was our catch of the day. It took a little longer than most places, but it was hot and steaming. It had a sweet mozzarella and a hearty sauce that blended well with the spicy pepperoni on top. There were also Italian herbs and spices sprinkled on top for an added kick. The dough as a bit chewy up front but the outer crust was light and flaky with a nice crunch. This was a very good pizza, and we would gladly have it again if we were in the area. For our immediate reaction watch the video below.
Since we finished the entire pizza, there is no reheat update for Bella Luna. As we said before, the service was excellent and our drinks were refilled promptly, so service gets a 5. The dining area, kitchen, and bathrooms were clean so cleanliness gets a 5 as well. The pizza was very good, but didn't have that WOW factor that we were looking for, so it only gets a 4. If you are in the area, give Bella Luna a try, you won't be disappointed.
