We went to the longest standing independent pizza restaurant in the area. Odyssey Pizza & Subs in Cocoa, Florida. It was established in 1979 and although the original owners are no longer there, former employees are the current owners using the same recipes utilized then. If you got a pizza there in the past, it will taste the same. Nothing stays open that long without a quality product and Odyssey has a quality product.
The signs of it's age are visible throughout but that is part of the charm with Odyssey. It has that little dive feel that people love, because it has that friendly vibe to it. Despite it's aged look, it is very clean. The pizzas are made at the counter in front of you so that you can see everything come together.
You can see in the two pictures above, that fresh ingredients are used, with plenty of cheese and pepperoni placed on top. It is then cooked to perfection and comes out piping hot and fast. This is a throwback to what was common back in the day. A pan baked pizza that has a light crispy crust. It's reminiscent of a deep dish, but not as deep, but packed with all the flavor of one. You can only get this type of crust from a pan baked pizza, and that is what makes this one special. Well, that and all that wonderful cheese that's piled on top. This is one of the best sauces that we have had. Rich, Hearty and brings the whole pie balance. It's a knife and fork pizza when it hits the table, but after a slice you are ready to pick it up by hand. It's not foldable, but no pan pizza is, nor should it be. You want to see this pizza in all it's glory, no need to fold it and hide all those toppings.

This is a filling pizza with a rich and hearty sauce, tons of cheese, and a lightly smoked pepperoni. You cannot go wrong with a pizza from Odyssey Pizza & Subs.
We won't burden you with each specific rating on this. We were greeted with smiles and welcome words. The dining, kitchen and bathrooms are very clean. Service is mostly self serve for the most part, but the staff is friendly and courteous. The pizza was excellent, we can't say any more kind words about this pie, all we can say is go have one for yourself. This gets Odyssey Pizza & Subs a 5 overall. Go right after you read this and get a pizza. and tell them that The Pepperoni Report sent you.
