PizzaVola (Indian Harbor Beach)

In Indian harbor Beach, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the salty waters of the Atlantic Ocean rests a tiny little slice of pizza paradise. PizzaVola is the home of a family recipe sauce that dates back 60 years.

When you walk through the doors, you are captivated by the warmth of the atmosphere. The walls are lined with wine bottles and portraits of their own dishes, with a large PizzaVola logo adorning one of the walls. You would expect to be a little underdressed based on the decor, but the staff is inviting and pleasant. Dressing up in Florida is after all, pairing a nice button down Hawaiian shirt with your flip flops.

We were invited to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose a table near one of the large windows that surround the outer walls. We ordered the large pepperoni as per usual, and it came out fast and hot. Steam rising from this beautiful looking pie brought the scent of that wonderful homemade sauce. The first bite was a bit confusing. The sauce didn't seem to be there. Second bite gave you a little kick from the pepperoni that came with a pleasant beef flavor, but still no sauce. We took a different approach and tried the crust, which was the upfront star of this pizza. It was pillow like fluffy with a wonderful flavor to it. It wasn't until you were near the end of the pizza and you only had crust and sauce left, that that sauce came to life. It was a hidden treasure on this pie, full of italian herbs and spices, and a light tomatoey taste. It was truly fantastic, but it was hidden underneath that mozzarella.

This is a good solid pie that everyone will like, but it could be better. The mozzarella on this pie, simply killed the flavor of that fantastic sauce. The mozzarella had nearly everything you want in a good pizza cheese: good mouthfeel, a wonderful stretchy pull, but the one thing missing was flavor. It was a bit bland, and we think that it didn't play well with that sauce.

With the cleanliness of the restaurant, the pleasantness of the staff, we immediately want to give this our highest rating, but we truly think this pie could be better. Don't get us wrong, we really like this pizza, but with a different mozzarella, we would love this pizza. Because of that, we can only give PizzaVola  4 Dancing Pepperoni.

If you would like to know more about PizzaVola, and their 3 locations (that's right, they just opened a new location in Cocoa Beach) follow this link to their website PizzaVola website, or you can check them out on Facebook right here PizzaVola Facebook. They even have an Instagram if you want to check out their photos PizzaVola Insta. We really do think you should give PizzaVola a try, and make sure you tell them The Pepperoni Report sent you.
