A sleepy little strip mall in Port St. John is the home of one of the best pizzas you will find. Luna Blu Pizza Co. isn't just putting out a pizza, they are putting out a great pizza. Designed for carryout orders, with only a small seating area if you are there for a slice, they break the convention of the standard independent pizza restaurant.
Their carryout model isn't the only way that they think outside of the pizza box. They use a conveyor oven which is normally found in large pizza chains. They inherited the oven when they moved into the location and decided to see what they could do with it. They did well. If you didn't know it wasn't a brick oven, you wouldn't be able to tell. The charring on the outer crust is exactly what you would find from a traditional brick oven. Since we are already talking about he pizza, let's just dive right in.
Luna Blu makes their sauce, and dough from scratch, and it comes through in your first bite. A bold tomatoey sauce, that compliments the creaminess of the Bacio cheese that they freshly grate daily. The pepperoni only adds to the complex flavor burst with it's nicely charred and smokey flavor. This is a greasy pizza, but don't let that stop you. Just let that grease drain off with that wonderful NY flop. The crust has a wonderful lightly buttered and garlic taste to it, that just finishes off your taste buds.
When we asked what style of pizza they made, the owner looked over to one of his employees and asked, "What would you say our style of pizza is?" She thought about it for a second and said one single word, "Love.". We tend to agree with her, although the owner called it a "Luna Style" which also works. They have a style all of their own, and they do put love in each and every pizza they make. We had the chance to sit and talk with everyone that was working that day, and you could see that they truly care about the pizza they are making. It is a NY style pizza, even though the owner won't call it that because he isn't from NY although his family is. We are telling you, that this pizza would make NY proud. it's done right with the sauce all the way to the edge, cooked to have that tell tale NY flop, and just bursting with flavors. This is a must fold pizza. Watch our video to see it all.
Reheat Update 1: Guy here with my reheat update of the pepperoni pizza. I set my toaster oven to 450 degrees. The pizza came out nice and delicious, it held it's flavor really well. The crust remained crisp and flavorful.

Luna Blu Pizza company had a full menu with items besides pizza, but we would suggest that you go in and get that pizza before you try anything else. We were lucky enough to get a tour of the kitchen and it was spotless. The dough mixer was cleaned after it's use from earlier in the day. They slice their prosciutto on site, and their meat slicer was spotless as well. The prep counter is cleaned after each pizza is made after it is transferred to the oven. They truly care about cleanliness as a part of your experience there.
Speaking of your experience, you are greeted with a smile and a hearty hello when you walk in the door. Even though they aren't a full service restaurant, they treated us as if they were for the day. We ate on location and they took care of any need we had. With the friendly service, the cleanliness of the pick-up area, kitchen and bathrooms, and then the full flavor of the pizzas we got, the only thing we can give Luna Blu in return is our highest rating. We give Luna Blu Pizza Co. a 5 rating with the same amount of love that they put into each pizza they make.
