Oceanside Pizza (Melbourne Beach)

We headed beachside for our next location. Oceanside Pizza is a laidback location with a good beach vibe. Exactly what you would expect from a seaside establishment. Modern era surf songs playing on the radio with old pictures that represent the coastline of Florida. Trophies on the wall in a small area from a sponsored baseball team that harken back those days of little league.

When you first walk in, the pleasant scent of an good ol' fashioned pizzeria filled the air. On a slight side note, as we were preparing to leave, a woman walked in that was an apparent regular. She spoke out a little loudly, "The smell of pizza makes me happy." We can't argue with her sentiment. The service was very friendly. We opted for a booth. A couple had just got up to leave and one of the servers immediately came over and cleaned it off for us to sit down.

All the rules were back in place, since Oceanside is a place that we had never been to before. That means that we ordered a large pepperoni pizza. We were told up front how long it would take, and it came out on time, piping hot, and once again that wonderful fragrance of pizza hit us full on.

As you can see, it was loaded with pepperoni. That was only the beginning of the wonderful surprises that we were going to receive. It had a nice crispy crust all the way through, and we quickly didn't something rather unusual. We turned the pizza around and tried the crust first. We highly recommend doing this when you go. You will not be disappointed in the experience at all. The base is a rich tomatoey sauce, that is topped with what seems like a salami based pepperoni. The flavor pallet is off the charts on this one. The cheese tends to fade into the pie because of how well balanced this pizza is, but that changes as the pizza cools down. That is when the cheese takes over the show and becomes the star. There is a wide range of flavors with the cheese, so much so that we had to ask about it. We found out that it is a cheese blend, and although we know what they are, we aren't going to spill the secret here. You will just have to go yourself and try and and then ask about it. You will ask about it.

It was busy when we first entered, nearly a full house even though we were there before the dinner hour. The service gets a 5 rating for their quick response and great service. Despite it being a rather old building, and it's age shows, it was well taken care of and very clean. Cleanliness gets another 5 rating. As we mentioned above, the pizza was well balanced, and created with care. It was full of flavor in every bite, from first to last. The pizza without a doubt gets a 5 rating. We can't recommend Oceanside Pizza enough. It's only a short walk from the beach, so if you wanted to get a pie to go, you could eat with the sand between your toes, while you watch the waves roll in. When you do go, don't forget to tell them that The Pepperoni Report sent you. Oh, and before we go, this is something we don't usually do, but we had to in this case. We got one last shot, of the final slice of pizza, and it was worth showing.

Just look at that pepperoni count. Love and pizza slices.
